Second Pandemic Poem

Dear lover,

I watched you wrestle
with a beast
of a fact
that you could
quite unknowingly kill me

I watched
the twisted knots of
your knuckles churning
truth versus want versus fear
so let me be clear
will I die if I catch the virus?
Yes
Will I die if I don't catch the virus?
Yes
Will I die?
Yes

PS.
I love you a
anyway

First Pandemic poem

Dear lover, I fell into you sandwiched between learning to walk and a pandemic tonight, we went to a poetry reading on the Internet always the biologist you explained the difference in treating people as diseased and treating them as valuable we folded ourselves into one another kissing elbows and panic fucking fear like we know how to do this putting my faith around our shoulders quilting together how to be apart closed fists and open hearts faith, history, hope, magic, god will not save us I look into your eyes there is a that classic and french moment of death and relief love replaces my fear belonging in/to this moment brings me home to this frail, barely able to breathe beautiful and tragic  body.
